Inserted in the collection Salento Fortifications komoot.it/collection/1396951/-salento-fortificazioni - Fortified farmhouse dating back to 1400, Originally the building complex consisted of a large and mighty two-story building, consisting of two large rooms per floor, equipped with drains throwing on French windows. In the shape of a large tower, it had a trappeto (underground oil mill for the production of olive oil) on the ground floor, while on the upper floor there was the home of the rich and powerful owners. The farmhouse also had an ancient chapel of which now only the bell gable remains, while the dry fence is original, dating back to the 15th century. There was a reed roof and terracotta tiles that channel rainwater into an effective collection system.
