As part of the redesign of the old town center of Eschborn, an ensemble of buildings was built on Eschenplatz, which, in addition to the city archives, houses a new museum, the Museum of the City of Eschborn. A few years ago the city acquired two old, side-by-side half-timbered houses, the “Krone” and the “Menje” house. The former Krone inn, built in the 17th century, was renovated and converted into a city archive. The "Menje" house had no monument value and was approved for demolition. In its place was a new museum building made of steel framework with glass facades, the footprint of which corresponds to the previous building. The remaining framework was integrated into the permanent exhibition on the first floor of the museum. A glass intermediate building connects the two houses and is used multifunctionally. The reception and entrance area is generously accommodated there.
The running fountain is a beautiful eye-catcher and meeting point for citizens.
The Ash Festival also takes place here, always on a weekend in May. It is a traditional club festival with an extensive music, cabaret and children's program, as well as a large general market.
