"With a view of the North Sea and the boats lying in the harbour, you will find the Nassau Bridge in Nassauhafen. It got its name from the crew of the S.M.S. Nassau, who were the first to cross the bridge in 1910. This structure has been made of steel and wood for over 100 years old and has experienced many a rough sea. In order to be able to cope with the tides, it was built as a pontoon bridge. This means that the structure has no pillars, but rests on floats and moves with the ebb and flow. There are a few fish restaurants at Nassauhafen . During extreme high water, a spring tide or a storm tide, the water rises over the edge of the harbor and floods the Nassau Bridge and adjacent areas. The parking lot at the aquarium is also under water. An impressive spectacle!"
