This cathedral, former diocese of Condom between 1317 and 1790, has been classified as a historic monument since 1840. We can easily see the scars of the wars of religion on its facades as well as in the heart of its magnificent cloister with Gothic vaults. Since 2010, the statue of the Dumas musketeers has stood on the cathedral square. It was created by the Georgian sculptor Zurab Tseretel.

Here in the Gers (Gascony) d'Artagnan is still one of the most important and famous historical figures. For example, there is a statue of d'Artagnan on the well-known majestic steps in Auch, the capital of the Gers department. There is also a large bronze statue of the four Musketeers right in the center of Condom just in front of the cathedral.
