Sant'Elpidio a Mare is located on a ridge of the Marche sub-Apennines between the low valleys of the Tenna river and the Ete Morto torrent, 9 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea. This city is characterized by Elpidio a mighty knight of the times, who saved the city from an incredible assault, honored precisely, giving his holy name to the city: Sant'Elpidio. Elpidio (Cappadocia, ... - Piceno, 4th century) was an anchorite perhaps from Cappadocia who lived in the Piceno where his cult spread; he is revered as a saint by the Catholic Church.

Beautiful medieval town, not far from the coast at about 250 meters above sea level.
It is not widely publicized but in my opinion it is worth a visit, probably longer than the one I made.
Rich in ancient buildings, many of which have been restored or are being restored, it offers an excellent view, both of the Sibillini mountains and of the coast below.
