The Standenhorn is a steep section of the shore of the Walensee near Filzbach.
The Standenhorn is crossed by two tunnels:
One lane of the A3 motorway leads through a tunnel that is 230 meters long today.[1] This is an originally 258 meter long former railway tunnel on the Ziegelbrücke–Sargans railway line, which was built in 1859.[2][3] Today the railway runs through the newer and several times longer Kerenzerberg Tunnel.
A 235 meter long tunnel is part of the Lakes Route[4] as a cycle path and also serves as a rescue tunnel for the Kerenzerberg tunnel.

This doesn't happen every day. Cycle paths that lead through tunnels. Spectacular and always cool. Please turn on your lights and watch out for oncoming cyclists.
