From here you have a beautiful view of the Castle of Trussio, first mentioned in 1257. During the war between the Emperor and the Venetian Republic, the old castle was destroyed in 1511 - the building that can still be seen today was built on its ruins. Having served as a hunting lodge for years, the complex now houses an excellent restaurant.

"The Castle of Trussio is located in the locality of the same name, a hamlet of Dolegna del Collio, in a strategic position on a hill overlooking the Judrio river. Its origin is unknown, the castle is mentioned for the first time in 1257 when, abandoned by Gislardo di Fratta, his lord, was set on fire and rebuilt in the same year due to the attacks of Mainardo count of Gorizia.

From 1279 to 1869 it was owned by the lords of Spilimbergo. The place was the scene of clashes in 1511 during the war between the Imperials and the Venetian republic and the old castle was destroyed; on its ruins arose the buildings that still exist today. The two towers to the west and the thick wall remain of the ancient part; the other buildings are more recent.

After being for years a hunting reserve where pheasants and hares abounded, it now houses a renowned restaurant, one of the most prestigious in the region. "
