Completion of the vicarage on the site of the derelict cottage. This completes the ensemble of preaching house, church and (old) vicarage - the heart of the historic village of Gruiten. In the next 200 years, the pastor's families live in this vicarage, and then the sexton's families from 1964 to 2005. Since 1965 it has (also) housed the municipal office.

The Gruiten Civic and Tourist Association has created a great audio guide for the historic village of Gruiten: direct.hearonymus.com/guide/1266
The village offers many historic buildings and an incredible flair. If you like coffee and cake, you should definitely visit the "Cafe in the village". Homemade cake at its finest! The historical ensemble at the Evangelical-Reformed Church in the village is worth seeing. After the floods in July 2021, the community put a lot of effort into repairing the flood damage. In the summer of 2023, however, the vicarage is still scaffolded, as the facade still has to be repaired regardless of the flood. Hopefully from autumn 2023 the ensemble can be seen again in all its glory.
