The Vesbecker watermill is already mentioned in 1360. At that time Duke William of Brunswick and Lüneburg transferred two farms and a mill in Vesbeck to "Diderc van vesbeke" for the fief.Dietrich v. Vesbeck belonged to a local noble family, which is occasionally called in documents from the 14th century.

The first miller by name is Johann Wieters, who is listed in the heirloom interest register of 1584. He had to pay a mill to the Amt Neustadt for the "watermill between Vesbeck and Warmeloh." In 1672, in an official description of Vesbeck, Erich Böker writes that there is a small mill for which he pays 30 groschen a year Amt Neustadt to pay.

In the following years, the Vesbecker mill belonged to the Bothmerschen estate, as can be read in a description of 1703: "The small watermill belongs to the Lord of Bothmer."
