La Scarzuola is located just outside the Montegiove district of the municipality of Montegabbione in the province of Terni in Umbria, Italy. It is not a village, not a castle, not a city, not a house.
La Scarzuola cannot be defined physically, it is soul, it is in the quantum, it is and it is not. La Scarzuola welcomes everyone but is recommended for the open-minded!
It is known for the ancient monastery where, according to tradition, St. Francis of Assisi lived, as well as for the villa in the form of a "theatre city" designed and built as one in the 20th century by the Milanese architect Tomaso Buzzi personal interpretation of the theme of the "ideal city".
