Within walking distance of the Grote Markt, on the corner of the old fortresses, you will find the "Fools Wall": a bas-relief of 9x9m on which all kinds of colorful bomb figures have been applied. It is a design by Jacques Vandewattyne (1932), an artist from neighboring Ellezelles. Top left, with the bell in hand, we see a representation of Ephrem Delmotte, founder of the Bommelsfeesten.

You can see his bust on a pedestal in front of the Zotten wall. Below this artwork we find the names of the kings and queens of this annual carnival celebration. The bust itself was inaugurated on January 10, 1998. At first sight it is just a bronze bust of Ephrem Delmotte, but looks are deceiving! With the simple push of a button, the visitor gets to hear one of four compositions:

The last two pieces are played by Ephrem himself: one on the carillon, the other on the piano. The bust is a work of art by Florent Devos, a late Ronsens artist and a close friend of Ephrem Delmotte.
