Nethestausee

The Nethestausee, which belongs to the town of Neuenheerse, is a 4.5 hectare recreational lake in the heart of the Teutoburg Forest / Egge Mountains Nature Park. The swimming lake has been used as a leisure park since 1975. On the lakeshore there are playgrounds, a small covered barbecue hut and extensive lawns for sunbathing, which are regularly maintained in summer. The lake is surrounded by picturesque forests that invite you to take walks and hikes around the lake.

The Nethestausee or “Neuenheerser See” was created by damming the Nethe river, which rises in Bad Driburg – Neuenheerse.
