In Rome, 15 forts were built, located on all the consular roads. Rome is circular, so on all its rays there are military fortifications that controlled the city. This was established in 1876 and in particular the Fort was built between 1880 and 1884. It was a royal building, therefore, upon the collapse of the monarchy, it became part of the public property, to subsequently pass into free concession to the Municipality of Rome, although there was a period in which the State had thought of auctioning it. Its total decommissioning occurred in the second half of the 1950s. In reality, it no longer carried out military functions even before that.
