If you park your bike at the Weidenpalais and then follow the signposted forest path behind the palace, climbing uphill, you'll have a wonderful "view of the palace" in the style invented by Prince Pückler. The forest moves closer to the path from the left and right, opening up to reveal the palace.

Adjacent (or east of the castle walls) is the two-story, pink, late-baroque mansion in the Rococo style. The complex is privately owned and is surrounded by eight hectares of landscaped English gardens. This has been designated as a nature reserve since 1949 and is open to the public.
