The eagle's view over town and country

There are several bridges over the Hunte River in Oldenburg, but the A29 motorway bridge to the east of the city is worth a visit and certainly not for those afraid of heights.
Not only motor vehicles use the bridge, which is almost 30 meters high, but also pedestrians, for whom there is also a path on the "basement floor". Secured by bars, you cross the gigantic building and experience unsettling vibrations when heavy trucks on the upper level shake the entire reinforced concrete structure.
Directly above the Hunte you have an unobstructed view of the silhouette of the university town and from Oldenburg harbor a picturesque path along the river leads between grazing sheep directly to the spectacular vantage point, which you reach after about 3.5 kilometers.

You can still drive under the bridge. I did it yesterday. Only the large stairs from the banks of the Hunte are already closed.

The skyline 🏙 of Oldenburg is great to see from here. In the far distance you can see the Lamberti Church, the bishop's church of the Oldenburg State Church. Also nice to see is the water tower in Donnerschwee and to the right of it the Ohmstede Church 👍😃
