The most interesting of the museums in Ankara. You can see collectibles from early history, for example from the time of the Hittites. The building dates from the 16th century, burned down at the end of the 19th century and was reconstructed as a museum at the instigation of Atatürk. Atatürk believed that the Turks descended from the Hittites. A theory that was refuted because they did not speak the Turkic language.
