The "geographical center of the former six offices" is located on the Galgenberg near Marktleuthen and is identified by this stone. The Sechsämterland is a historical political structure of the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Margraviate. The name goes back to the six offices (administrative districts) Wunsiedel, Hohenberg, Weißenstadt, Kirchenlamitz, Thierstein and Selb. The name of the six office country lives on in the six office drops, a local herbal liqueur.
