The Ruhr Valley Cycle Path is the quietest and most scenic way to cycle from the Ruhr area to the Sauerland (or Sauerland). Especially in towns such as Meschede and Bestwig, he is a great alternative to the road, which is used here, especially on weekends very intense by arriving by car holiday guests. The bike path follows the course of the Ruhr and uses where it goes side streets or just bike paths. He is mostly paved and therefore also suitable for racing, unless you intend to race a race.

The Ruhr Valley Cycle Route (own spelling: RuhrtalRadweg) is a 240 km long cycle route along the Ruhr from the source at the Ruhrkopf near Winterberg to the mouth near Duisburg-Ruhrort. The cycle route was officially opened with an opening ceremony on the grounds of the Zeche Nachtigall on 30 April 2006.
