Staten Island represents a great contrast to Manhattan or Brooklyn. You can clearly see this while traveling on the Staten Island Railroad. You feel like you've been transported to far-flung suburbs, if not the countryside. At the end of the route you have a good view over to New Jersey. Otherwise purely residential.
