Current form is from 1644. The last church service was in 1912. Boarded up in 1964 due to the danger of collapse and in 1966 it largely burned down. In the 1970s and 1980s, the Zeedijk was a 'no-go' area and there was a lot of drug trafficking. In 1991 the municipality bought the chapel after which it was restored. It now serves as a hotel convention center.
