To the east, outside the town, on the district road to Bayreuth, Frankenhaag junction, is the St. Rupert Chapel. Surrounded by an old cemetery wall and mighty linden trees, it has an idyllic location.
There is no electricity connection in Sankt Rupert, the services are held by candlelight. The organ also has to be kicked. In the summer months of May, June, July and August there is an evening prayer every Saturday evening at 7.30 p.m. This devotion is very popular from the near and far.
Even today, many people appreciate the special quality of the water from the spring in front of the churchyard. They often come from the wide area to draw and refresh themselves.
By the way, there is also a Sankt Rupert pilgrimage route in Germany. "On the way with St. Rupert, the Apostle of Bavaria, and Maria" is the motto for pilgrims when they hike from Altötting to Salzburg.
