Today the “Stadhuis Museum” is located in the town hall (Stadhuis) of Zierikzee, which dates back to the 16th century. There you will learn everything about the history of the port city and the many listed buildings. There are several halls, including an exhibition room where one of the oldest surviving kayaks in the world can be admired.

The City Hall Museum applies the measures of the RIVM and the Museum Association

The Zierikzee Town Hall Museum is located in the old town hall of the monumental city of Zierikzee and tells the story of this beautiful city and its surroundings in a surprising and innovative way. A visit to the 470-year-old building is an experience in itself. Take the worn-out spiral staircase, wander through the beautiful council chamber and marvel at the impressive roof construction. The changing exhibitions and masterpieces from the collection bring the past to life. Curiosities, ship models, old maps, archaeological finds, silverware and paintings show how the old port city and the island have developed over the centuries. A visit to the City Hall Museum can easily be combined with the Gravensteen, the oldest prison in Zeeland. This is perhaps Zierikzee's best kept secret.
