Somewhat hidden behind the chair rock, this memorial stone commemorates Adolph Kolping, who himself was a journeyman shoemaker on the road, then became a priest and expanded the journeyman associations, which endeavored to improve the mental, physical and material misery of the traveling journeymen. For this reason he also founded the Kolping Society.
