The Dealul Repedea fossiliferous site is a protected area of national interest that corresponds to the 4th IUCN category (paleontological nature reserve) located in Iași county, on the administrative territory of Bârnova commune. [1] It is located south of Iasi, near the television relay on Dealul Repedea, and covers an area of 5.80 hectares.

As a geographical position, the reserve is located on the border between the Central Moldavian Plateau and the Moldavian Plain and at the intersection of the forest-steppe with the forest. In this place there is a limestone massif formed by fossilized and cemented shell shells, after the retreat of the Sarmatian Sea.

Here you can reach from DN 24, following a road on the right side of the road that leads from Iași to Vaslui. From the steep edge of Repedea Hill (353 meters) opens a wide view over Bahlui and the city of Iasi. As a place to contemplate the geographical landscapes, Dealul Repedea stands next to Mount Cozla (Piatra Neamț), Dealul Cătălina (Cotnari) and Mount Tâmpa (Brașov). On bright days here you can see Dealul Mare - Hârlău and even Ceahlăul.
