The water mill in Bruchmühlen near Bruchhausen-Vilsen was first mentioned in a document in 1350 and was in operation until 1996. During the last restoration, the grinding technique was deliberately returned to the original. Here the visitor experiences the "classic" drive of the 120 grist gear via stick wheel and spindle. A bag box should enable the production of finer types of flour in the future. The overshot water wheel, restored in 1990/91, is now running day and night again after a repair on the shaft and the mill pond has enough water to make grinding operations possible, at least in smaller quantities.
