Tongelaar Castle is located on the estate of the same name, north of Mill. The castle's origins date back to the 9th century. In its current form, the castle dates from the 15th century. The vast majority of the estate consists of cultivated land, interspersed with stripes of forest, avenues and hedgerows. You can have a drink in the castle courtyard on certain days of the week. The castle is frequently used as a wedding location.
The castle is in a beautiful natural rural quiet area for walking or cycling. This is a nice stop on a drive (or hike) on the sand / gravel roads and forest trails around this castle.
The castle and the opposite farm 'De Benedenhof' have been in use since 2016 at the Smaakmakers Mill. On the ground floor is an information point from Brabants Landschap. Here visitors get a glimpse into the life of the badger and information is available about nature in the vicinity of the estate. The estate around it contains 50 badgers.
