It is puzzling why a village was founded here at all rhoenline.de/moordorf.html. The poor soil quality was known at the time. On the other hand, comparable soils were made arable elsewhere by planting buckwheat, e.g. in the Teufelsmoor between Bremen and Bremervörde. In any case, it was a very borderline frugal life.
