After numerous renovations and additions, the masterpiece of the Graz master builder Josef Huber was completed. After completing the interior design, the Weizberg church was consecrated in 1776 and still delights people today as it did then.

In 2018, the parish church on Weizberg was appointed a minor basilica.
The first church on the Weizberg was built in the 11th century. The laying of the cornerstone for today's High Baroque church was in 1757.
