    Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on or next to the dike on the entire route between the fat Berta and Otterndorf. This even applies to dogs in a bike trailer, in a bag... it's understandable, but with dogs you have to go about 20 km onto the country road and you can't catch a glimpse of the sea. That was a big disappointment for us.

            Nice little observation tower from which you can have a nice view of the Elbe. At the foot there is a small information center about dike construction.

                  The beautiful view alone is worth the tour 👍.
                  If you drive from Cuxhaven to Ottendorf, you will pass the production halls of Winergy Cuxhaven. Here you can see the huge blades for the wind turbines up close 👍.
