The Normandy Barrière is a French palace hotel. Inaugurated in 1912, it is the flagship of the Barrière group, in Deauville in Calvados in Normandy. The facades are listed in the General Inventory of Cultural Heritage.
History:
Around 1912 at the time of the development of French seaside resorts, François André founded the Barrière group, with his partner Eugène Cornuché (owner of the Maxim's restaurant in Paris, and director of the Trouville-sur-Mer casino) with, among other things, the takeover of a Ostend casino in Belgium, and the construction of the Deauville Casino4, and this Normandy palace by the architect Théo Petit.

It was the first of the city's large palace hotels, followed in 1913 by its neighbor the Hôtel Royal Barrière. A year after its opening, financed by her English lover Boy Capel, Coco Chanel set up her Chanel hat boutique within the hotel grounds6. The hotel is completely renovated in 2015-2016.
