In the "Historic Holzminden Port Facility" project, the harbor master's house is located on the edge of the harbor embankment above the harbor wall. The wooden connections and the projecting gables are typical features of the Weser Renaissance period in the 16th and 17th centuries. The compartments are provided with wickerwork and clay plaster, in the lower area with quarry stone lining as flood protection. The roof is covered with sandstone slabs typical of the region. The front gable is decorated with the coats of arms of the district and the city of Holzminden. The building materials largely come from a demolished building on Niederen Straße in Holzminden, which was built shortly after the great fire during the Thirty Years' War becomes.
