The landscape conservation area stretches along the Schwinge from Stade to the state border between the district of Stade and the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) between Stade and Bremervörde. It includes the meandering course of the Schwinge as well as parts of the lowland with the tributaries flowing into the Schwinge and parts of the adjoining valley slopes. The Schwinge is partly accompanied by trees, tall herb meadows and vineyards. It is characterized by flowing water vegetation and an alternating bed with sandy and gravel sections.

Beautiful area. Large meadows to the left and right of the swing. Populated by migratory birds in autumn, e.g. Barnacle geese. A great path leads from Groß-Thun over the Schwinge to Wiepenkathen. Benches invite you to take a rest. Nature observations free of charge! Special moods: sunrise and sunset or a foggy morning. Bring time. Binoculars and a camera with telephoto would be good.
