This moor lake is located in the Ribnitz Great Moor, a rain-fed bog, meaning it is fed solely by precipitation, which is "held" by the moss. The moss grows as a result, bulges up, forms peat, and grows... if it isn't drained. Here, too, peat was dug and the bog drained. The pond was also "created" in this way. Today, a worthwhile excursion trail leads through it, with information boards and benches.

You should push your bike in the moor. The small miracles are otherwise quickly overlooked.. like perhaps the moor frog, which turns blue during the mating season.
