The Straufhain is a very popular destination, as evidenced by the many highlights at this point. The view there extends from the Thuringian Slate Mountains, over the Thuringian Forest to the Hohe Rhön. In the vicinity you can see many striking points, such as the Veste Coburg, the Veste Heldburg, the vineyard near Gompertshausen or the Gleichberge. A little further away, for example, you can see the Bleßberg. The sunset 🌄 up here is fantastic, as it is on many other mountains. And yet every place has its own certain individuality, which results from the perspective of the respective viewer. A visit to the castle ruins is worthwhile at any time of the year, especially in winter.
