The municipality of Horn is ancient and was first mentioned in writing around 957. A Romanesque-style church was demolished in 1837 and replaced by a church on the waterfront. Around 1936, this church was demolished in turn, and the present church, designed by Stefan Dings, was built in its place. In October 1944, the spire was blown up by the retreating Germans, but was soon rebuilt.
