Montefiascone is not only EST EST EST (it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Est!_Est!!_Est!!!_di_Montefiascone), the excellent wine for which this city is famous throughout the world.
It is enough to pedal a little through the city that we see first of all the CATHEDRAL OF SANTA MARGHERITA given the majesty of the dome visible from every angle. Few people know that it is even the third in Italy for diameter! Before we find only San Pietro in Rome and Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence.
Skirting the village at the end of a short climb, along which we see some cellars that sell the famous wine, we find a terrace that dominates the entire valley below and gives us a wonderful view of the lake.
Just enough time to take some pictures and we see the ROCCA DEI PAPI behind us.
“From its Torre del Pellegrino it is possible to look at 360 degrees and with binoculars see Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio and Abruzzo. We are on the highest hill of the Vulsini mountains, the south-eastern shore of Lake Bolsena, from which it is possible to dominate the Viterbo area.
