The Zeiler Käppele is a magnet for visitors, there are always visitors here in summer and in winter. A visit to the chapel is always worthwhile. From up here you also have a wonderful view of the Main Valley and even of Hassfurt.

In 1727, the prince-bishop of Bamberg's tax collector and councilor in Zeil, Johann Wernhammer, donated the construction of a small Maria Hilf chapel. The new construction of the current chapel as a Marian shrine with Lourdes chapel took place in the years 1894-1897. Renovation work was carried out in 1955 and 1995/96 and most recently in 1997. The "Zeiler Käppele" is a popular place of pilgrimage. From here you can enjoy a wide panoramic view of the city, across the Main valley to the Steigerwald, to the north to the Rhön, to the east from the field altar to Bamberg and the Franconian Jura. The Kapellenberg used to be the location of the Castrum Cilanum (Zeil Castle).

On the chapel mountain rises in 366 meters above sea level. N. the "Zeiler Käppele", a traditional pilgrimage church. From there you have a wonderful view of the city and the Main Valley. The view from here over the Main Valley and the town as well as the history of the church and chapel make a visit absolutely worthwhile.
