This beautiful historic building has been a social institution since 1676, founded by Sir William Turner, who was once Mayor of London. Under the name of William Turner's Hospital, it provided a home for orphans and the elderly. The term hospital did not stand for hospital, but for "hospitality".

Even today, seniors with little resources live in the house. The building is not open to the public, but a view from outside on the historic walls is well worth it.
