Important crossroads located on the ridge that separates the Valleriana in the south from the Val di Lima in the north. The hiking trails lead from here downhill towards Pontito or in the opposite direction towards Lima (Ponte di Ferruccio) and cross at this point with the wider forest roads which branch off towards Pontito, Bastia, Ca 'Revia and the Piagge.

Croce a Veglia, a pass like many others, on one of the many branches of the Via Francigena that carried pilgrims, towards Rome, passing through Altopascio and vice versa. A “stopover point” where it was possible to find refreshment, lodging and shelter in the Spedaletto, of which only a few ruins remain.
