Small town built on the edge of the Dordogne which hosts a Jazz Festival and a Bandas Festival every summer. Not to be missed: Sainte Marie Abbey, the Louis Roques Distillery and the many bridges and viaducts, some of which are listed as Historic Monuments. Market every Friday and Sunday, every other week.
Souillac is also known as the "city of seven viaducts." Located at the confluence of numerous railway lines, its architecture gives it a certain charm. It is also halfway along the GR hiking trail between Sarlat to the west and Rocamadour to the southeast. It's a city that deserves to be explored at leisure, wandering through its medieval streets and historic center to discover its many hidden treasures.
