The castle is located in the cadastral community Vorderelsenwang the community Hof near Salzburg in the district Salzburg-Umgebung, at the western end of Lake Fuschl on a peninsula. The historic, four-storey castle tower rises above the forest of the peninsula, otherwise the complex is not recognizable from afar.
