    Schauburg (artificial) 1874 to 1906 commissioned by Johann Nepomuk Graf Wilczek using the existing remains and acquisitions of components (castles, monasteries) built. The original castle from the 12th century. was first conquered and blown up in the Thirty Years War.

          Worth seeing Schauburg, during the construction of which the remaining medieval building remains were included in the redesign. The castle has already served as a backdrop for some (partly well-known) films.

          The Kreuzenstein eagle station is also located on the site, which organizes bird of prey flight demonstrations, although this is not really a highlight for me personally. For the sake of good order, however, I didn't want to leave it unmentioned.

            This short round can be done on foot or by bike. You get a great impression of the castle and there are some good photo opportunities. By the way, there are some short steep descents next to the path that you can try with the bike. But always pay attention to the pedestrians on the way.

                  Wonderful castle with a wonderful view to the Danube and Korneuburg. There is also a small restaurant with a view. There are guided tours of the castle and a great eagle show.

                          19th century "Frankenstein castle" that was made from bits and pieces of old castles. Some people collect stamps, some collect old cars and some... Well, some apparently collected bits and pieces of old castles back then.
                          While horrifying to art history nerds, the castle does have a certain charme. Definitely worth visiting. Same goes for the bird zoo next to the castle and to the restaurant with magnificent view.

                              The hilltop castle of Kreuzenstein rises above Leobendorf on a hill in the Rohrwald forest. The location was strategically important due to its elevated position, the altitude is 266 m above sea level, the height above the Danube is about 100 m. The castle was reconstructed in the 19th century on the ruins of an earlier castle and today houses a collection of historical weapons, furniture and works of art, among other things.
