One day the railway between Waldangelloch and Meckesheim (Angelbachtalbahn) crossed this bridge. The locomotives of the branch line, which regularly jumped off the rails, were given the name "Entenköpfer". Passenger traffic on this route was discontinued in 1980 and freight traffic in 1990.
