The path is very narrow and winding in places. It's difficult to make good progress on a road bike, especially on weekends when there are lots of people out and about. With oncoming traffic, it gets very narrow in some places.
Update August 2025: The section between Mühlehorn and Mollis has improved significantly over the last three years. Except for the topographically determined narrow sections, the width is now OK, and the surface is also quite good.

Along the Walensee you can largely avoid motorized traffic by bike from Mühlehorn. Before that, it goes partly on the country road, although here too the car traffic is quite limited.
Nevertheless, the western section of the cycle path is always close to the motorway, sometimes right next to it, because there is simply no space to keep more distance.
Nevertheless, the path is very nice and pleasant to drive, not to mention the two interesting tunnel sections (illuminated) and the wonderful view over the lake.
