And there's a lot to marvel at in this large, cozy, and old house, which offers everything your heart desires on three floors. Not only were dedicated collectors at work here, but people also got their hands dirty, built, renovated, decorated, and continually brought history to life.
This museum in the former Borghorst town hall (1887) is a gem, offering so much for young and old. Upon entering the corner shop, the spinning and weaving room, the pharmacy, the shoemaker's workshop, or the clog maker's shop, grandparents revel in nostalgia, and children's eyes widen. This used to be a kind of supermarket? And these are the toys grandparents used to play with? You can spend hours in this lovingly furnished house of history and travel back to times long past.

On many days, the local history museum, with its former town hall, "Haugen Stuoben," is a lively forum for the local history association, with exhibitions, Low German evenings, and lectures.
