Tourists interested in culture should explore the center of Heiligenstadt. Particularly popular: the Theodor Storm Literature Museum, the Eichsfelder Heimatmuseum, the baroque Mainz Castle on Friedensplatz or the Klausmühle. The house, built in 1748, stands where the birthplace of the famous carver Tilman Riemenschneider once stood.

The city impresses with its numerous churches and chapels. The magnificent St. Marien Church with its two octagonal portal towers or the St. Anne's Chapel with one of the oldest figures of Mary in Eichsfeld are among the most popular tourist destinations in Heiligenstadt.

As a spa, Heiligenstadt also offers spa guests numerous recreational opportunities. The vital park with six different swimming and bathing areas, seven saunas and steam baths, wellness offers and the picturesque waterfall in the Heinrich-Heine-Kurpark leaves nothing to be desired for visitors and spa guests.

The historic city center with its three Gothic churches, the baroque secular buildings, but also the Eichsfeld local history museum with its town history and the "Theodor Storm" literature museum are distinctive.

Heiligenstadt is definitely worth a visit because it has a lot to offer: a lively spa park, an interesting pedestrian zone, a great baroque garden and beautiful old houses.
