It was not until 1927 that a separate parish was founded in the now rapidly growing place. The new church building, which was consecrated in 1929, is a good example of the connection between liturgical considerations and architectural possibilities of this time.
St. Antonius is one of the first modern church buildings in Bonn after the First World War. The single-aisled hall church in simple shapes, plastered white, has left the historicistic variety of decor behind.
