The Neves reservoir is located in the Zillertal Alps at the upper end of the Mühlwalder Valley near Lappach. It is surrounded by the mountains Hoher Weißzint, Großer Möseler and Turnerkamp.
Well-known mountain peaks such as the Hohe Weißzint (3,371 m), the Großer Möseler (3,479) and the Thurnerkamp (3,418 m) tower majestically into the sky north of the Neves reservoir. At the foot of the giant rock runs the famous Neves High Trail, which offers a wonderful view of the lake and the glaciers.
The area around the Neves reservoir is ideal for hikers and mountaineers. From here you can get to the Eisbruggjochhütte, also known as the Edelrauthütte, in around 2 hours, and to the Chemnitzerhütte in 1.5 hours. On the other hand, you have to calculate about 5 hours for the Weißzint, 6 hours for the Möseler and a little longer for the Thurnerkamp, the latter being the most demanding of the three mountains in terms of climbing.
