Coming from the south east along the trail it was stunning to come out of the forest and have the open landscape with the dam revealed. Also, after a somewhat rocky and tricky descent on the bike through the forest it was fun to be able to race across the dam. There is a monument with a plaque dedicated to Torstein Skinnarland on the north west side.
