During the Middle Ages, some of these salt roads, also known as
"Mule tracks to Bohemia" or "semitas bohemica", mostly from the north-west
Direction coming further in a south-easterly direction running our area.
In addition to the most diverse commercial goods, especially salt from the salty ones were on them
Halle area over Altenburg, through the Erzgebirge jungle, the
Miriquidi, transported over the mountain heights further into the low-salt Bohemian region.
During this time, salt was vital and therefore precious like gold. It was needed
mainly to preserve urgently needed meat supplies.
One of these high medieval old roads, once trampled by humans and animals in the impassable terrain of the Ore Mountains primeval forest (Miriquidi), was the Salt Road. Here in Weißbach, this salt road ran through in a pleasing curve
